LZ Granderson: Homicide statistics aren't great in the United States, but a good batch came out. Most of them, over 14,000 murders were committed against black people; majority are by African Americans. LZ: It is more than twice as likely for a black person to murder a white person as for a white person to kill a black person. He says it's not an exhausting epidemic and we should not overstate how often it happens. The Yarl case was played as one of a never ending series of incidents where a white person guns down a black person - even though Lester was arrested and charged.
