Politicians always have paid some attention to what's being said in the papers. But I think conservative politicians in particular pay a lot of attention, because they feel it has an outside influence. And now Labour obviously is to some extent scared of the press - but it's not its friends,. It's not its party in the media, as it were, it's the opposite side of things. So I don't think that the Labour Party leadership is anything like a scared of the Guardian and the Daily Mirror.
