The Five Phases of Feng Shui

The fire or summer phase is described as the flowering or expanding phase. It's also the phase during which you've already put your maximum effort in and everything from here on out is going to be declined. This summer or fire phase is the phase of the climax. So that's the creative phase. After that, you have the metal or the autumn phase, which is the harvesting and collecting phase but it's also that decline. And then the final phase is the water or winter phase - associated with retreat, stillness and secretiveness. The directions in the phases are fascinating because there's five of them and there's only four cardinal directions.
