Is There a Recession in the Business Cycle?
Jeffrey Moore, the father of leading indicators, counseled us that you be doing very well as a forecaster if you could recognize a recession as it was starting. Locke: The most important thing to figure out in this macroeconomy is inflation. And yes, we have an inflation cycle downturn and it can turn down pretty hard at times. That happens with inflation cycles. But I have to tell you, that's typically in conjunction with a recession.
