The Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord leading to muscular weakness. Former Boston College baseball player Pete Fretz, who can no longer speak, posted his own bucket video to the tune of Vanilla Ice's Ice, Ice Baby on Twitter. A social media firestorm ensued, extending well beyond the gates of Boston College.
