The Creation of the Land Markets

Before feudalism, there were two types of people that owned land: lords and kings. And then the other group was serfs - average citizens living on a lord's land. Each year they would pay the lords for the pleasure of working on their farms. This changed in britainaroud the sixteenth century whenlords realized sheep could be used to gather wool instead of food grains. That created labor markets and real estate markets which still exist today.
