Nintendo acquired Disney cards in the 1960s. The move opened up a new distribution channel and kids' market for Nintendo. It's this story that we tell over and over and over again on acquired where you acquire something, some asset that then gives you a leg up in a different part of your business.

And its unlikely transformation into a global multi-billion dollar media monopoly was led by an iron-fisted patriarch who — amazingly — never played a video game in his life!
