According to St. Francis DeSales, prayer places our understanding in the brightness of divine light and exposes our will to the warmth of heavenly love. Nothing can so effectively purify the mind from its ignorance or the will from its perverse affections. When you turn that into a conversation with God, right? Then your intellect is turned towards what is most luminous and your will, your heart is turned towardswhat is most lovable.
