Don't be afraid to acknowledge that your company has drifted. Do not just kind of walk away from it thinking, well, this would be uncomfortable to take this on now. Pull it in with something real or go back and reconnect to the original one. If you're working in an organization where you're not sure what these are, there's a pretty good indication that the no one sure from the top down. Just sit down with your teammates. Everybody write down what you think the answer is and then let's read them out loud. And that tells you what you have to do.
