Around 1327 BC, King Tut died without any children. His widow frantically sent a letter to the Hittite king proposing a marriage alliance between herself and one of his sons. The son was murdered as soon as he reached the Egyptian border. And then Tut's widow was forced to marry one of her subjects, a royal advisor. But an immediate war was averted when the Hitite king himself died a short time later.
