How to Mirror Someone
"I could smile, I could smile at night. And they'd be really happy," she says of her captors. "If I mirror someone, they're going to know that you just used a hostage negotiation trick that Chris Vos taught you out there." The technique is called 'mirroring' and it works by giving people the vision of what they want to see and giving it right back to them. It's not an exact science; nobody has ever been able to do it entirely successfully.
