The Deadly Benchmark for Monsters
The deadly benchmark, we will assume 5 times 8 is 40. The max CR at 8 would be 12. They can handle about 20 CRs worth of monsters. Will they face things bigger than that? Yes. But we know what the threshold is. We have that little gauge that tells us,. You're in the red if you go over here. If they are level 8, 150% of that is 12. So much easier that is than like the encounter building math that you use with other tools. It's really, really fast once you get in your head.
