Remixes of Pop Hits in the '80s
By 19 83 and 84, re mixes of certain main stream pop hits were generating top forty radio airplay. Arthur baker's stadium rocking reboot of sindy loppers, girls just want to have fun helped pump up the songs rotations on urban top forty stations. Nile rogers would be the one to change that when he was commissioned by the top new wave era pop act of their day. But what hadn't quite happened by 19 84 was for a remix to become the definitive version of a pop chart hit.
