There's a significant sex difference here. Women tend to make growth hormone more continuously, whereas men tend to be more pulsatile with longer periods between their pulses of growth hormone. It also has a key role when it comes to insulin function and belly fat, visceral fat. The other factor is that women actually make more growth hormone than men until they go through menopause. And then after menopause, we make much less. So those are some of the metabolic hormones that I pay a lot of attention to.
