Being nice was principal number one that actually works well in an environment where there's a lot of players of equal strength, equal power playing against you. If they were playing another programme, they would always begin by co operating on the first move. And then if the other programme co operated back, they would continue to co operate. Cause were nice programs, they would never defect first. So be and clear, forgiving and retaliatory. That's what emerges as a way to thrive in this environment. This is eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. This is old testament moralityand computers discovered it on their own. It wasn't programmed into them. They're so inscrutable
