Trotsky talked about the British ruling class seeing history not in terms of months or even years, but centuries. The Tory party was able to represent the interests of the ruling class and deliver stable governments. They didn't have internal democracy in the Tory party. Boris Johnson and Liz Truss were not that at all. And Rishisunak is a little bit more that, although he's very far from what they actually want to remember.
