The Importance of Poison Ivy
The fruits of poison ivy are extremely valuable. They're really high in fat and they happen to appear around the same time that all of our migratory songbirds are making their way south. And so it is a vital component of their diet as they migrate south. The production of this triene congener of urisheral increased by 153%. As if we needed one more reason to slow climate change. It's sadly, it's a double whammy because not only are we increasing the amount of CO2 in our atmosphere, we're creating through habitat destruction.
