The Day of the Lord Language and Association
The day of the Lord isn't when God gets most of evil dealt with. He deals with all of it, both on an earthly and a cosmic scale. It's more general. Malachi 3.5: I will draw near to you for judgment. The whole land shall be turned into a plain from Gevah to Ramon south of Jerusalem. But Jerusalem shall remain aloft on its site. And these are idyllic conditions. That didn't happen in 70 AD.
