Theory of evolution by natural selection applies to a lot of other things than just biology. It's the best way of describing how society changes, culture changes and technology progresses. I'm trying to erect a general theory of evolution to go alongside the special theory of evolution that Charles Darwin came up with. And if you like, I therefore reach back further than Darwin and say the whole Enlightenment project is to recognize that most of the important things happen in the world spontaneously.
