Sula orders caesar to divorce his wife and marry someone who is not related to her regime. Caesar refuses, so sula strips him of his priesthood; he goes on the run in southern italy. He hides for a week before being caught by one of suwa's soldiers. This was just caesar. He liked being in control. And he would rather risk his life than divorce his wife just because some one else told him he had to.
