Is It Possible to Build a Job Outside the Mainstream?

For the longest time I had a big mental hurdle when it came to admitting to people what my job was. Right after I left working in IT at this large law firm I was doing some consulting work on the side for a couple other smaller law firms. Even though that kind of dissipated within a year or two I still kind of held on to that for six or seven years because it was just so hard to explain. When you say you're a professional gambler you know immediately they think poker player and I go no I'm not a poker player," he says.
