The single man co wrote with her was a minor hit, reaching number 95 on the hot 100. It did make the top forty on both the adult contemporary chart and billboard's new modern rock chart. The album won wide acclaim with critics noting the growth in man's song writing. But epic records wasn't really interested in promoting amy's soul bearing compositions.
