The Role of Crazy Ideas in Intuition

Are crazy ideas useful to talk about or are they only good for guiding intuition and research? You know, that's a pertinent point because I'm about to go to some meeting about what I think is in many ways a completely crazy idea. Why am I interested in it? Because it makes me think about a bunch of things. Even though it's an idea which I think is a sort of pragmatic level, won't work. It doesn't make any sense pragmatically. But still something that kind of loosens up the thinking process to say, you know, to consider that crazy possibility.
