Plato is a proponent of philosophical education, but warns against exposing children to such an education. He thinks that the tools of debating are dangerous and should only be given to those who can use them well. The key thing that human beings need in order to really understand things is experience. And kids just can't have that - you don't find moral prodigy at eight years old.
