The Jewish Kabbalah Within Judaism

In its Christianized form, Kabbalah is a signature esoteric interest but in its origins it's a Jewish medieval esoteric school or number of schools. The name comes from the Hebrew root meaning to transmit or hand down and may be translated simply as tradition. They are the oral Torah which God gave to Moses alongside the five books of scripture which are traditionally attributed to that sage. At the same time in southern Spain the 12th and 13th centuries we had a flourishing of some of the greatest philosophical and esoteric thinkers of the Islamic world.
