The Role of the Right of Passage
Rights of passage are ceremonies that people tend to perform when they're somehow shifting from one realm of existence to another. People leave small objects, take small objects, say a prayer or invocation, change something, put on or take off an article of clothing. The first anthropologist who studied these rituals, called arnold von ge, in his sort of seminole early book simply called the rihtes of passage,. He says it seems that these rituals, initially, at root, are based on simple ceremonies that people perform when they pass through doorways and thresholds.
