Yhou: It's a tremendously complicated issue, much more complicated than most people give credit for. The relationship between the medication doctor and the patient is just as important as the relationship between the psychotherapist and the patient. Maybe there's certain genetic differences across kids that predict not only their symptoms, but how they respond to medications. This is another holy grail we're going after. What it means right now is the doctor has to work in collaboration with the family in a controlled trial and error fashion.
