Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland
The movie came out like two years after tim burton's bat man, and it came out the same year as the adams family remake. And so what was happening in the early nineties was there was a lot of this kind of revisionist, post modernist, you couldn't just do the story. You had to have a take on it. The funny thing about peter pan for me is, peter pan and alice in wonderland are two victorian kids books that modern readers like to say, oh, those victorians, they were really weird. It's got all these strange, spooky things in it that kids shouldn't be exposed to.
