Religion is fatally ambiguous in the sense that its meaning is not clear, and there is no way to finally adjudicate and agree upon what it means. It's an arbitrary, a vague, a basically nonsensical category that is terminally ambiguous. All just depends o you consider religion to mean. And you can define it however you want. Religion is one of these words that i believe scholars should never use, and that even ordinary lay people should use very carefully and sparingly because it tends to just cause more confusion.
