The Importance of Not Being Prejudiced
The dehumanizing scale was developed by Italian psychologists Norcatelli and Bruno. The researchers didn't think it would work because who is going to put other humans at a 60% on the evolutionary scale? But then they started doing this research with that scale and they were shocked that it worked. We are more likely to ascribe complex thoughts and emotions to certain groups than out groups, for example.
