The Importance of Self-Deception
Our capacity for self-deception, or at least to form a narrative that serves us from whatever information we're being given, seems to be ages old and just part of who we are. It is interesting to see even now something that you would think people have gotten the memo about, such as cold reading and psychic fraud. Having said that, although I've spent a lot of my career debunking that stuff, it's more interesting to know why our mediums are so perennially popular.
