Aristotle's Response to Plato's Sensation

In aristotle's epistemology, there is a similar response to plato. He says how do we start from nothing and get to the principles on which knowledge is built? We use the same capacity that is possessed even by non human animals, namely sensation. So you don't need to say that in order for plato to be a proper plato, he's got to have a theory of recollection. But still, there's a question about how perception will generate the principles.
