The Evolution of Aspect
In the early days of AHL, we did a number of different things, not only model development and asset management. Michael was already keen on commercializing that piece of software. I meanwhile spent a fair bit of time using the software to provide consultancy services for financial businesses. And what came to light out of that is that you could fairly easily model the behavior and the profitability of investment banks. They went wide-eyed because we basically modeled their business. We didn't believe ourselves but everyone thought we were completely nuts by and large.
