The Importance of Inflammation in Aging
In mice, and we see this in people as well, declines in function are at least strongly associated with a chronic inflammatory environment. Many of the interventions that are most effective turn that down or turn it off. And rapamycin absolutely fits into that. We see this in tissue, after tissue, there's a strong inflammatory increase with age and rapamycin pultantly shuts it down.
