Baptists should be baptizing early, but not late for the sake of late. As Baptists become more faithful with covenant nurture, you will find that in that local church, children tend to get baptized soon. My daughter came to me and asked me, I want to be baptized. And yes, we did have a conversation. We went over those things. It shouldn't be abnormal to have an eight-year-old understand the gospel.
