Kidney Failure - What Happened to You?
I was considered a sick kid in school. I felt a big shame back then because I just felt that I wanted to fit in, being that I was an immigrant. And it made me feel like I didn't belong there because I didn't have friends. When we came from Mexico, we lived on food stamps here. We lived in a one car garage that we converted into a bedroom, which is put a bed there. So we had no financial literacy. It really hit us the most during my period of kidney failure.
