The Importance of Rationality

A lot of key things that we want to think about is sort of like thinking on thin ice, thinking where there aren't good feedback loops. It's pretty hard for human beings to actually figure out how to reason and then update our beliefs. I noticed people seeming to get better at thinking about this stuff by thinking about weird things like the Bayesian definition of evidence or at least it seemed causal. And now it seems like rationality is important. Like concrete actions cost time and effort that could be spent different ways.
