Space Syntax: A Mechanism for Data-Driven Democratisation of Urban Environments
Is space syntax model directly intended as a mechanism for a sort of data-driven democratisation of urban environments and architectural environments? Or is it just, does it just so happen to do that? Well, I think one of the reasons the company actually spun out from university, this is more than 30 years ago, was that the group was doing a lot of work with community groups. They were testing things, finding that they weren't working how people wanted them to or expected them to. It's starting to define the architecture of our everyday lives, like literally. And it has this kind of potentially democratic quality about it in so far as it's produced or it's facilitated by these little devices
