Head-Shaping in the Ancient Near East
The ancient Near East is ground zero for the earliest interactions between humanity and the spirit realm. Why was there such a fascination with head-shaping? I theorize, can't prove it, that they were seeing entities that they believed were their gods and they were trying to emulate that. The cherubim are pretty well described by Ezekiel in the four faced entities, human lion, ox, eagle; the seraphim are different appear to be these flaming, perhaps serpentine entities.
