The Importance of Slavery in the Bible
Nakedness and shame are connected from when we get from Genesis. Like what Ham's purpose was actually to tell his brothers to be to and to thereby humiliate his father. And so they undo the shame by literally covering his body without ever looking at it. So that's that's my read of the text that I think is the most consistent with the narrative and the values of the Torah.
