Slicko's Trap
Slicko the squirrel was stuck in a trap. When she tried to run off with the trap fastened to her leg, she found that she could not. After Slicko had eaten a few nuts, she felt better and thought perhaps now she could get out of the trap. But when she tried, the jaws of it held her as tightly as ever. All at once she heard, off in the woods, the sounds of bushes being trampled down. Twigs and branches snapped and broke, and Slicko knew something was coming. I hope it isn't a bear or any animal that will get me! She watched and waited for what seemed like an hour before someone came
