The Dangers of Lithium Ion Batteries

Batteries for e-bikes should be regulated in the same way as fireworks heavy machinery and medical devices. Electrical safety first believes that it's a lot of this problems being caused by the design of certain e-vehicles. The National Fire Chiefs Council has some advice for people that do have e-bike and scooters particularly those that have bought them from unregulated online marketplaces. Do not charge your devices while sleeping unplug the device once it is finished charging and then plug the charger into a main socket rather than an extension lead. Also make sure you've got working smoke alarms in the room where you're charging it just in case you do pop out for a cup of tea
