The Internet and Its Importance, I Think?
The internet was funded by ei t and t, not the us. Government has probably gotten a worse at doing things themselves than it used to be. If you want to get depressed about kind of federaly funded research, just look at what's happening with senior scientists who receive government grants. Would you rather have peepting new areas over time? Or would you rather people like glen clinrock go after things earlier in their career? I don't know exactly how old he was but i remember him being very ambitious.
