The Prime Minister is, to all intents and purposes, another MP in that election scenario. We talk about having a two-party system a lot of the time but why do we describe it in that way? Because fundamentally, since 1945, we have had a politics dominated by either the Social Democratic or Center Left Labour Party. There's a third party, it's often referred to as such, the Liberal Democrats who stand some way between the two big parties. And we now have to take account of the fact that there are nationalist parties in other parts of the UK. The Scottish Nationalist Party is now the third party in Parliament. It's actually bigger than the Liberal Democrats.
