The Romantic Movement
The world can be conceived organically like a tree, in which part lives for every other part and through every other part. Or mechanistically as a result of some scientific model the parts are external to one another. The state is regarded as a gadget for the purpose of promoting happiness or preventing people from doing each other wrong. And these are very different conceptions of life,. and they too, belong to different climates of opinion and are influenced by different considerations. Where did the romantic movement take its rise? certainly not in england, although technically, no doubt it did.
