The Road to the Trouble Mind

The sense impression is going to press itself upon us whether we like it or not. We can stop that impression before it enters the inner citadel of our soul. And we can check it out for explosive and dangerous value judgments. As stoics, we must remind ourselves that no thing or e t is either good or bad in itself. Marcus aurelius repeatedly reminds himself of this stoic practice in his meditations.
