The Astare trio fraud was confirmed by realising the income from their currency hedges was too stable. The Australian dollar in the last crisis dropped very suddenly from about 90 cents to about 60 cents. And so what happened was that these people had massive currency losses going it right. But when you see the 70 year old who has blown up large amounts of money, and they were reaching for safety in a world full of fraud, is kind of sad.
