Catholic doctrine in 18 58 states that jews are collectively responsible for the death of jesus. For over a thousand years, the whole centre of italy was ruled by what became known as the pope king. Not only were the jews required to live have their homes in the ghetto, which was very crowded and so limited space,. The jews were required to pay christian gatekeepers to lock them in every night. Yes, that was one of the requirements of the jewish community.
