Why There's Evil in the World?

Aquinas' conception of what evil is, or rather what it's not, is strikingly different from how we in the modern world tend to think of evil. We today tend to identify evil with some sort of positive force that inclines human beings towards acts and malice. But ancient and medieval thinkers denied that evil was something positive. In their view,Evil doesn't pick out some certain positive feature that all bad cars share in common. Rather, what it means to say that something is evil or bad is that it's missing or lacking some good at all to have.
