What Is a Geek's Signature?

I think there was a way on Ubuntu to install Bitcoin core through the apt repository. And that means if you do a pseudo apt install Bitcoin, that does get auto updated. So it's not even necessarily the Bitcoin core developers. But generally you have to go and download it yourself if you want a new version. I personally think it the only thing it means is that the source code matches the binary.
